So some time ago I tumbled upon this old lamp in a charity shop nearby. And while the base of the lamp was lovely, the old paper shade was in need of a makeover!
Believe it or not, this final result is actually plan B, my first idea for it failed miserably haha!
Thankfully, the idea for another route came before I marched it all over to the bin and so I went on to apply gold leaf and fussy cut decoupage paper to give it the treatment it deserved!
And so now it gets to live on my bedside table!
If you would like to try creating one of these yourself, or just want to get your hands on any of the products I used in this project - here's the list!
For those of you living in USA, these are the two stores I recommend that will have most if not all products that you need :)
For those of you in UK, check out this store here - Mad Arches
All of these stores are run by amazing people on a mission to make decoupage and mixed media more accessible to everyone so your support would mean a lot!
Products used :
Pentart Metal Leaf glue
Gold Metal Leaf from Amazon
Decoupage Queen Sweet magnolia rice paper (A4 size) x3 copies
Green acrylic paint (edges)
Pentart Gold Shimmer glaze (edges)
Pentart Glossy solvent varnish (to seal metal leaf and decoupage)
That is so gorgeous.
